About the job

Our client is a construction company headquartered in Paris, France, that engages in the fields of civil engineering, building, and road trades.They are seeking an accountant who will be responsible for the accounting of financial flows and the production of the mandatory accounting documents for the group’s business units.Duties Expected:

• To check and enter payroll related entries;
• Supervise customer invoicing and invoice validation in the software;
• Customer Payment Recording;
• Registration of expatriate living allowances.
• Recording of banking operations, bank fees, loan, and bank reconciliation (5 bank accounts)
• Preparation of monthly tax returns (withholding tax, income tax and VAT) ;
• Monitoring and validation of petty cash;
• Recording of depreciation, prepaid, provisions and accrual entries;
• Closure of the financial statement and monthly accounts;
• Preparation and monitoring of the intercos sheet ;
• Preparation of the OHADA mapping for 2022 and monthly in 2023;

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting transactions of group’s business units under his responsibility ;
• Publish financial statements in time ;
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closing ;
• Reconcile all ledgers to make sure that the correct figures are reported to the management ;
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns ;
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary;
• Comply with financial policies and regulations ;

Qualifications:

• Work experience as an Accountant (5 years) ;
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the GenerallyAccepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) ;
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like Accumatica, FreshBooks and QuickBooks ;
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills ;
• BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree ;
• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus.
• Fluency in French Language is an advantage
